Hiya guys! If you’re wondering where I’ve been for the past few weeks, well, I’ve been here all the time. My blogger instinct ain’t here though. And I don’t think it’s back either. Yep, you got that right. I’m already officially getting tired of blogging. Why? Coz I’d rather read articles/blogs than write them. And another thing, writing 200 something words twice or thrice a week just ain’t my cup of tea. Unless it’s my job then that’s another thing.
Ok then, just to tell you the things that have been going on (or have gone) with my life these past few weeks. First off, the movies. Rattatouille. Now that’s what you call a movie! It’s very entertaining. I had a lot of moments where I would be really laughing. The chemistry of the rat and the guy was awesome. The movie cheated on the chemistry part though coz they just sorta created it. Y’know, it’s an animated movie so what do you expect?
Harry Potter 5. Well for me, it’s not that bad as other people have been putting it, mainly because I haven’t read the book which is why I don’t have any expectations. You people who have read the book (I’m probably talking to about ¾ of the world population) have so high expectations so you get so disappointed by the movie. Lemme tell you this. Why don’t you go be the director and try to cram in a 700-page book into a 2½ hour movie? And include some 20 to 30 minute action scenes please.
The Simpsons. Spider Pig, Spider Pig… Probably the funniest part in the movie. And since it’s in the trailer, I was expecting more. Well Bart’s ding dong was shown so that’s another funny part. But other than those two scenes, the rest were just stupid jokes which were a result of Homer’s stupid brain. So a few laughs and smiles but not really raucous, shout out loud laughs like the ones in Rattatouille or Transformers.
I guess that’s it for the movies! Next is the international car show. Now this is my kind of thing. There were a lot of hot-looking models out there. The car models I mean. The babe models? They were, uh… fine. I mean finely built. Very finely built. Ok I am officially gonna be beaten up next week by Ira when I go over to Dagupan. Ok now back to the babes… I mean cars. Did I mention that Toyota’s babes were the hottest of them all? Ok really now, let’s go back to cars.
I was with Eric, Peter, and Jules during that time and we were greeted by Honda’s Asimo. A robot that can do just about every basic step that we can do. You know, walk, balance, dance. By the way, I know people who can’t even balance their lives. Particularly their love lives. It’s like they need that wheel of fortune thingy to be able to decide who they really want.

Here you can see Asimo Dancing
Anyway, back to the topic. Honda also released a new variation of the Civic. This one has cooler mags and has a brown touch to it. It’s not much of a change though if you know what I mean.

The Honda Civic 2.0s – Brown Version
Next up is Suzuki. Well I got on the Suzuki Swift. It was pretty much roomy given it’s size but it will set you back P755,000. For that money? I’ll buy the Civic. Suzuki also “boasted” probably the worst car in the show. It’s the Suzuki Alto. You’d be lucky if you’ll be able to breath when you’re seated in the back seat. And another thing, with a displacement of 800cc, hats off to you if you can go 100kph with four people seated in the car.

Me. Inside the Suzuki Swift.

Eric. Inside the Suzuki Alto. Yep.. he can barely breath.
Toyota. Ahhh… The land of the models. Both cars and babes. Okay, the babes only. Anyway, back to the cars. What greeted us was the first concept car we saw in the show. It was Toyota’s FTSX Concept Car. It sorta looked like an Innova but with kick ass 19 or 20” mags and the doors were just cool. The front door would open normally but the rear door would open the other way around.
Toyota also featured their brand new Vios. I’ll sum it up in two words. It sucked. Well the interior did not suck quite as much but the exterior just plainly sucked. Other Toyota cars that were there but I did not pay much attention because of the babes were the hybrid Prius, the Yaris, the old Innova, and the new Fortuner.

The Vios. Yep. The babe is a lot hotter!

Jules. The on-call agent. His teammates called him asking for help.

The Toyota Prius. The hot babe.

Peter and the hottest babe in the show. He got the catch of the night.
Hyundai. The Santa Fe’s pretty cool. Compared to the Fortuner, I’ll take this baby no questions asked. Unlike the Fortuner, which does not have any air conditioning in the second row seat, this one has it. That’s all that matters to me. The Hyundai Sonata was quite memorable though because it was only one of two cars wherein all four of us had our picture taken together.

The Santa Fe. Nice front look.

The four of us. Inside the Hyundai Sonata.
Nissan. The Teana was the only thing that was worth looking at here. Its exterior looks pretty much like the Sentra (which is not good), but the interior was kick ass! It had a wood finish to its dashboard and doors. I can’t quite remember what the other perks were but I remember the feeling when I was there. Awesome!

The Nissan Teana.
Mitsubishi. One of my favorite brands, mainly because of its Evolution line of cars. Sitting there atop the platform was the Concept X, which is mainly how more or less the Mitsubishi Evolution X would look like. Its front grill finish looks like the car is frowning in a good way. It’s like when you look at the rear view mirror of your ride and see the Evo X behind you, it’s saying, “Are you gonna get out of my way or do you want me to run rings around you? Either way you’re gonna eat my dust.” Y’know, that sorta thing.

The Concept X. Get out of the way.

This is my current wallpaper.

A rear-view look
Mitsu also featured the brand new Lancer. It looks pretty much like to Evo Concept X (and vice versa). The front grill also boasts that angry look and it has a built in subwoofer in the trunk to boot. While the exterior was kick ass, the interior pretty much sucks. You can see that everything in there looks cheap (except for the RF sound system). For me, I’d take this car over the Civic under two conditions. That it comes in a manual tranny and does not cost 100k more than the Civic. Otherwise, the Civic’s still my choice.

The Mitsubishi Lancer

This sub is inside the Outlander. It’s the same with the one inside the Lancer.
Volvo, Chevy, GM, Porsche, Volvo, Audi. I’m getting tired of writing right now which is why I chunked these six models all together. Well, they all have something in common. They ain’t Japanese cars. And most of them cost more than P1M, except for the Chevy Aveo and Spark. There was this SUV, the Chevy Tahoe. Its muffler was protruding out. And I mean by a lot. This car has already earned the award of “Most Obscene Car in the Show” Award.

The Chevy Tahoe. See that muffler?
Earlier, I was talking about the Hyundai Sonata because it was one of two cars that we had our picture in. Well, the other one’s the GM Suburban. Now this is an SUV. The only drawback? It looks like a car for one of your bodyguards.
As for the rest, here’re some pics. Enjoy.

After the car show, we went over to Mall of Asia and had our lunch there. Jules had to go home already because it was his mom’s birthday. So Eric, Peter and I ate at Bacolod Chicken Inasal. The food’s fine. The quantity is not. That’s all I have to say.
After eating, we went over to Toby’s Sports Arena to shoot some basketballs in order to burn some of those calories. We went two rounds each. Each round was 40 seconds and we had to shoot around 20 feet away from the basket. Here are the scores:
Eric: 1st round: 6. 2nd round: 6.
Peter: 1st round: 4. 2nd round: 6.
Me: 1st round: 9. 2nd round: 6.
So yeah. I won! And notice we all scored 6 in the 2nd round. A bad sign? 6-6-6? I don’t believe in those shit.
Okay. I think this post is long enough to make up for previous posts that I should’ve posted. I guess that’s it for now.
Later.
