It’s the 4th!

Actually, this post was erased by Ira when we had a fight.  When we kissed and made up, I just couldn’t leave this hole unplugged.  To tell the truth, I’m kinda pissed that she did this (sorry Ira).  I’m gonna try my best to recall what we did that day, so here goes…

So it’s been four years now, huh?  Yup, me and Ira just had our anniversary last weekend (Sep 16 to be exact) and boy did it feel more than just four years.  You see, Ira had the hots for me ever since we met and she beat around the bush for almost a year before giving the “yes” answer.  I understand playing hard-to-get, but I think Ira’s got the wrong notion.  Why, you say?  I’m not sure but I think she played the hardest-to-get game with me.

We got together at lunchtime and together with her family, we ate at Little Asia down there at Tomas Morato.  I had eaten here before so just like before, the food was great and the price was right.  Since I’m with her family, they paid for the dinner and I got a free meal out of it.

After lunch, we were scheduled to go over to Mall of Asia to shop (there was a big sale during that time) and were supposed to have our dinner date over at Highlands Steakhouse where I have already reserved two weeks prior to that day.  Well everything’s fine till the point where we were already at the car and going to the said destination.  It was a Sunday so I figured there wouldn’t be much traffic along the roads of EDSA as everybody will either be at home or be at the malls.

Turns out I was wrong.  The deadlock was horrible.  There was this roadwork far far ahead and there was no effin way of turning back.  We had to brave the traffic and my feet and knees were already tired from hitting the clutch and accelerator alternatively.  As we were already close to the point where the traffic was supposed to end, there was this brown SUV which cut right in front of me!  It’s as if it didn’t care whether we were gonna crash or not!  Of course, there was nothing I could do but hit the brakes.  Since I was already steaming before he cut me, you could only imagine how I felt after that!

When we got off the traffic, I was ready and pumped up!  “You ain’t doing that to me, Imma chase you down and pay you back double!”  This statement ran through my mind a lot of times.  I pressed hard on the accelerator and the engine purred in unison.  I wasn’t hearing nothing.  Ira was trying to calm me down but I wasn’t hearing nothing.  All I could hear was the sound of my engine and all I could see was the SUV right in front of me, within my reach.

Somehow, before I could complete my revenge, the following words of Ira were able to go through me:

“You’re not gonna take me home later.  I’m gonna call my driver to pick me up.  I don’t wanna ride in your car anymore.”  Or somewhere along those lines.

As that statement came piercing through my ears, I eased upon the accelerator and the tachometer went from a hard 4k rpm to the sweet spot at around 2k rpm.  Of course by this time, Ira was already angry and she doesn’t want to hear any reasons from me during the ride.  A fight during our anniversary, this is just so classic of us.

When we arrived at Mall of Asia, Ira was still mad at me but not that much anymore.  Eventually, things lightened up and we kissed and made up.  It was such a petty fight anyway so no big deal.  Of course our dinner date went through and I’m gonna be talking about food from this moment on.

Ira ordered the Filet Mignon while I ordered the Lamb Rack.  Because the food at Highlands is never prepared beforehand, we had to wait quite a while before our food was served.

As the food arrived, we couldn’t help but dig in to the luscious temptation.  Surprisingly, my order was more delicious than Ira’s even if hers was P500 more expensive than mine.  Well, you can attribute that to good taste and good instinct.

After the feast, it was time to go home.  I took her home and a few kisses and frenchers after, it was time to bid our goodbyes.

A pretty eventful anniversary dontcha think?  A little spat sure helped out a lot in the making of this blog.  Happy 4th Anniversary Ira!  I love you.

Later.
