Poem Schmoem

You know I used to compose some poems for Ira in the past.  Well, because of lack of time due to work and laziness (alright already!  It’s more of the latter than the former), I think the last poem I made for her was last year.  Anyway, here’s the payment on the previous times I wasn’t able to do so.  Hey Ira, this post is for you…

The stars are shimmering, the stars are bright
And I’m stuck here working the night.
I know you’re sleeping, probably dreaming
And you know what, I’m sure you’re snoring.

It’s been a while since the time,
Almost everyday, just the two of us together
Remember when I almost committed a crime?
That frencher that would bind us forever.

Your dad made quite a fuss
Apparently, kisses were not allowed.
While being scolded, I acted like a wuss
My pride swallowed, my head completely bowed.

Ahh, those were the days,
Don’t you miss them?  Nostalgic, I know.
Those memories still seem to glow,
And forever they will, coz we love each other in many different ways.

Some of the lines there were sort of a desperation measure just to make things rhyme but what the hell, I tried my best.  I shoulda posted this during my night shift but I fell asleep while making this.  When I woke up, it was already time to go, which is why I’m doing this at home.  Hope you like it.  :)

Later.
